DIRECTORS STATEMENT
I made So We Rage to tell the story no one else is telling. The punk movement had a profound impact on our culture and society, yet its most urgent, human stories remain untold. Stories of rebellion, resistance, and raw, unfiltered truth.
This culture shaped me. It formed my identity, my politics, my way of seeing the world. And somewhere along the way, I think we’ve lost touch as a society with what the punk movement really stood for: the refusal to accept a broken system as normal. Now more than ever, we need that spirit back.
So We Rage follows a young punk band and a young couple dreaming of escape from poverty, violence and a world that tells them who they’re allowed and not allowed to be. It’s a story about fighting back against the systems that is designed to divide us and sell us lies.
This film is a call to remember why we should rage. To rage against injustice.against apathy, and most of all, against a system that wants us to be silent and complaicent. So we rage.
